Smartphones has since moved to becoming a part and parcel of our everyday life, one good innovation of technology we just can’t do or even live without. And yes, we are not complaining, as a matter of fact we are happy with it.
the cell phone is the most quickly adopted consumer technology in the history of the world
A report released by pewresearch shows that 91% of America adults owns a smartphone. It will interest you to know that smartphone sales has since moved up and keeps climbing on hourly basis.
A survey also carried out by statista shows that majority of Americans are smartphone addicts same goes for Nigeria, China, UK, Australia, Canada etc..
In quote “It is becoming even more difficult by the day to live/move without a smartphone”. Yes, that’s just how cool we are with our phones.
2016 came with a bang and same way it came, it left, So far in the history of tech (smartphone production), 2016 has been the best year we witnessed the release of many powerful machines to effectively carry out our mobile multi tasking and meet up with some of our mobile expectations, ranging from Gaming down to the internet and other multimedia. –source–
This although didn’t come without its own flaw, as the market really seemed very competitive and many top players just couldn’t get hold of themselves, and what was the outcome? **head meets desk**
They ended up producing monster, strong and powerful smartphones (I like to call them weapons to make life easier).
But, sadly, they just ended up been fancy time bomb that will explode in our pockets and some that will keep hissing at us. **i wonder why the phone doesn’t like us that’s making it hiss** Thus the two new words in smartphone tech. “Hissgate” and “Explosion” I don’t blame them though, blame the competition.
That aside, below is a list of the (best smartphones 2016) most anticipated Smartphones we just couldn’t wait to get our hands on back in 2016.
Top Smartphones 2016 That We Couldn’t Wait to see Launch (Best Smartphones 2016)
P.S : these phones aren’t ranked in any form. So, whatever you see as 1 or 10 doesn’t mean position 1 was the most anticipated or overall best performing. Its just a list in the alphabetical order. Permit me to repeat it again, these are not a list of best smartphones in 2016.. Rather Its a list of smartphones that launched 2016 and only listed alphabetically.
1.] Google Nexus 6
Actually, It was very early days for new Nexus 6 rumors, but we’ve already heard a tip-off that the smartphone will once again be made by Huawei, not just that, it will feature a Snapdragon 820 chip, which is undoubtedly more powerful and energy efficient, plus, builds in support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
Some other pretty stuff we ‘know’ includes the fact that, it will be the launch vehicle for the new Android operating system, Android N, and it will most likely arrive in October.
Don’t worry about the screen, as this will be a large-screen phablet (the clue is in the ‘6’) and with support for USB-C now built into Android it will use that format for data transfer and charging.
—yea, that was it. Came out with a bang–
2.] HTC One M10
Now that we finally know the phone unveiled by HTC in October was an HTC One A9, we were still expecting to see the HTC One M10 in March 2016.
As usual **just so that you know** HTC One launches are traditionally held just prior to March’s Mobile World Congress show, and HTC chairwoman Cher Wang has said there would be significant improvements in innovations and design for the next flagship model next year.
One major/ key area in which HTC now lags behind its rivals is basicall the screen, with the M9 featuring a full- rather than Quad HD display. We’d expect to see some key improvements here, as well as some general performance enhancements.
3.] Iphone 7 and Iphone 7 Plus
AKA “Father of Hissing”.
Don’t get me wrong, the Iphone 7 was one smartphone so many fans and even non fans of Apple was very anxious and excited to see + lay their hands on.
This wasn’t in any way strange as the launch of Iphone devices always comes in with so much talk and anticipation. Thanks to their ability to produce quality phones with wonderful features and specs.
The Iphone 7 which finally launched on —- is one smartphone currently buzzing the web right now, Most Especially, the Nigerian web world **perhaps, its because they are currently facing economic recession which tripled the Naira – dollar conversion rate, thus making the iphone 7 a very expensive device in the market**
4.] LG G5
Not quiet long ago, we welcomed the LG G4, but the LG G5 will be here by the end of spring 2016. Honestly speaking, very little is known so far about LG’s next flagship, but we have heard that the company is working with Irience to bring an iris scanner down to the G5.
Well, that’s something of surprise, given that the LG G4 doesn’t even feature a fingerprint scanner.
This isn’t brand-new tech, and as a matter of fact, there is an UMI Iron phone right in front of us with the same iris-scanning technology, the only difference here is that; it will bring iris scanning in front of a UK audience for the very first time.
The new LG G5 is thought to have a larger capacity battery – perhaps up to 4000mAh – and the company is expected to retain the ability to remove (One of the things iPhone has taken away from us), and also wireless charge, the battery.
5.] LG G Flex 3
The LG G Flex 2 was an interesting smartphone, with its curved form-factor and material that would automatically heal scratches **hmm..
The scratch doctor phone**. Mark 3 should be more interesting still, with a rumored metal body and premium design. We were Expecting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM inside, plus 32GB of (expandable via micro-SD) storage.
Leaks suggest there will be a 3500mAh battery, a fingerprint scanner, and 20.7/8Mp cameras. Although the LG G Flex 3 was not yet officially confirmed by the company, we expected it to make an appearance in early 2016.
6.] LG V10
LG has unveiled what looks to be the LG G4 Pro, except it’s known as the LG V10. It’s a dual-screen Quad-HD smartphone with two front-facing selfie cameras, a manual mode for video and support for micro-SD up to 2TB.
(The 1TB Micro SD is already out, made by Adata). Other highlights include 64GB of built-in storage, a 3000mAh removable battery, a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chip with 4GB of RAM and a 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC.
It’s was not yet confirmed when the LG V10 will go on sale in the UK, although we hoped it will be late 2015 rather than early 2016.
Things on Kickstarter are often a complete load of rubbish, but, the Nextbit Robin is a success story which we’re looking forward to seeing in the flesh.
